The message of change is going to spread from the voting both to the sports announcer's booth.
Very shortly, the new message will be one of performance and results, not just on the playing field, but everywhere the fans live and breathe.
We will all soon see a major change in how athletes are represented and supported. It's going to be a more simplified process.
The team concept is truly going to come into play more than the superstar being the focus. It will be team logos, history, and the brand that will supersede individual performance and personal accolades.
Supply and demand is the economic and real life equalizer. It's going to be based on money and the basic joy and satisfaction the consumer receives.
The fans will have greater choices and in fact demand more for their dollar. They will very shortly start demanding something to be fanatical about and become educated.
Accountability and results will be the benchmark for how all things will be decided.
It made sense to dream about going to the stadium to see your favorite superstar, to ask for an autograph, etc.
In the past, whatever happened off the field, stayed off the field.
Today, our sports stars leave nothing to the imagination, and when the fans stop dreaming, they are going to wake up, and the world of professional sports will be living a nightmare.

06-07-2008I think the sporting entertainment will change as well. Its going to change the face of the athlete and the owners, starting with the athlete. I grew up in the 80s which I think was the best time to see professional teams perform at a high level of pursuing that goal of a championship, to bring a parade to the city of which they represent. Growing up watching the NBA it was just Boston, Lakers and the Sixers in the finals but it was about team performance and fans got what they paid for.
But I believe that the players were dedicated to bringing a championship to their city because they felt they owed the fans that and they knew they had dedicated fans that believed in the team and not just their star player. And yes, the fans knew who the stars were and the stars were dedicated to making the rest of the team better.
So, the accountability was there and they stepped to the plate but these days the focus is so much on the star of the team that it takes away from the other players and I must say that some star players dont know how to make their teammates better and dont give a damn about the fans at all.
As far as the owners, I cant stress enough that some of these sports team owners are just greedy and some of them want to bring championship to their cities and have a bunch of world titles hanging from stadiums and arenas. Yu can tell which owner is true to the fans and the city because they go all out on getting the best players, satisfying the fans with block buster moves and trades, getting involved with fan opinions, sweating it out with players to get their contract negotiated to keep them here so they can have a chance to get title under their belts.
Fans do need to demand more and I think they will and they deserve more. And Im passionate about this topic because I grew up In Philadelphia and the last world championship I saw I was 14 years old and thats when the Sixers won the NBA title and I havent seen one yet come through this town and Im now 38 years old.
