Access Athletes will be attending Anquan Boldin's Inaugural Fundraiser Dinner for the Anquan Boldin Foundation (Q81 Foundation) tomorrow evening at M&T Bank Stadium. Bridgett Coates of Exposure BBC invited me to cover the event and I'm thrilled for the opportunity to be able to provide my readers with a glimpse into Boldin's charitable work.
Boldin, who was awarded the 2010 Ravens’ Walter Payton Man of the Year award, has a strong record of community service with the many successful youth programs he has established. Other athletes can learn a great deal from Boldin's perspective on philanthropy and what it means to him to be a professional athlete, as reflected by his quote below.
"I don't want to be just another guy who played in the NFL. We have a bigger purpose to touch lives and I'm trying to do that."
I look forward to writing more about the Q81 Foundation event in the near future. The full press release is below.

The Anquan Boldin Foundation (Q81 Foundation) has a seven-year history of helping youth programs providing grants, donation of gifts, summer camps, dental programs, shopping sprees, and food programs. This past summer, the Q81 Foundation in partnership with Florida Crystals facilitated an eight-week summer enrichment camp for high school youth. Following these efforts, the Foundation has been granted the opportunity to deliver over 2,000 free life insurance policies to families who qualify. Boldin, who was awarded the 2010 Ravens’ Walter Payton Man of the Year award, is also the honorary chair of the Emerging Leaders United (ELU) program of the United Way of Central Maryland. Thanks for keeping us looped in on the positive things athletes are doing outside of their sport. And a BIG congrats to Anquan, his Q81 Foundation, all of those involved, and yes, his PR person, Bridgett Coates. Good to see a solid plan to build his off the field endeavors and showcase how positive they are being executed so well.
Keep up the good work #81 and Matt, looking forward to your article on the event!
